The bitrate is not limited SIPIDO but by the network infrastructure. In SIPIDO, the video conferencing bitrate (bandwidth) can be set from 256 kbps to 4 Mbps. The bit rate actually being used in a conference call will also depend on what the remote end supports (the video conference system or client you are dialing into). In the end, the configuration will be decided after evaluating the network conditions at the site where the device will be used. Our previous generation of products worked reliably on 768kbps in very difficult network conditions off-shore, and we expect the Impact X to work well at even higher bitrates. On 3G networks, video conferencing can work on bitrates higher than 1Mbps. In general, it is not recommended to use more than 768 kbps, since the data throughput can fluctuate considerably on a short timescale. You need both upload and download bandwidth since SIPIDO streams two way video and audio.
